Info

A short film exploring the body as a site of memory, resistance, and spiritual ecology. I worked as the movement director, drawing from my background in Indian classical dance and embodied storytelling to choreograph gestures rooted in South Asian classical traditions. Inspired by the concept of sacred groves, natural sites imbued with cultural and ecological significance, the piece reimagines the South Asian body as a “third space” of ancestral resilience. My role focused on shaping the physical language of the film to reflect themes of colonial erasure, gendered embodiment, and the spiritual dimensions of land and dance. The resulting movement direction bridges mythology, history, and personal memory, turning the body into both archive and altar.
